Re: Ramiro R. Muñiz, 40288-115
Your Holiness:
I pray that upon receipt of this letter that you are in good health. I am writing on behalf of Ramiro “Ramsey” Muñiz, my loving husband who, at the age of 30, ran for governor of Texas under an independent political party known as the Raza Unida Party. He provided a political voice for Mexican Americans, Hispanics, Latinos, Chicanos, and others. Historically it is written that this came about during the Civil Rights Movement. Today he remains incarcerated in Beaumont, Texas.
Ramiro R. Muñiz, remains unjustly incarcerated for 22 years. The struggle for freedom and justice has been long. In past years he was in the penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas in chains, shackles, at times naked, cold, and in the dark. Being ready for the end of his life, he felt the presence of Jesus Christ who told him to rise and be the man that God destined for him to be. He was later released from solitary confinement and he continues to be spiritually blessed like no other. He is told in dreams that he is blessed because of his suffering and the love that he maintains in his heart.
He has been told in messages received from Jesus Christ that at times we must give up the essence of pleasure and comfort in return for a life of suffering, hardship, misery, and even imprisonment, for the deep spiritual love of freedom and justice for humanity.
My father-in-law, the late Dr. Salvador Alvarez, has stated, “Ramsey, my son, it is evident and history will reveal to the present and past generations your contributions and sacrifices in the political, cultural, and spiritual struggle for truth and justice, to the extent that you have sacrificed your freedom, personal interests, family, and happiness.”
Ramsey is now 74 years old, and he is confined to a wheelchair. He has submitted a Petition for Compassionate Release which sits in the Office of the Pardon Attorney, and supporters throughout the country are seeking his immediate release.

We ask that you communicate with Pardon Attorney Robert A. Zauzmer and President Barack Obama advocating for the release of Ramiro R. Muñiz, 40288-115, based on his age and medical condition. Muñiz spends 90% of his time in a wheelchair. He has degenerative health conditions; he recently contracted an eye infection which has impacted his vision and memory. He has lost a great deal of weight, and we ask that President Obama grant his Petition for Compassionate Release before he leaves office on January 20, 2017.
We ask for your prayers and influence on President Obama, knowing that you represent the spiritual conscience of the world. We continue to pray for you, as your remain the most profound spiritual gift from God to all humanity.
In spiritual unity with you and God’s family,
Ramiro & Irma Muñiz and Family
