L to R: Nancy Pearlman, Scott Phelps (rear), Ramon Miramontes & Diego Ramirez
Yesterday I attended the Los Angeles Mission College graduation ceremony at the college. Later, we had a party in Sylmar for Diego Ramirez, who graduated summa cum laude. A lot of friends were there, including Los Angeles Community College Trustee Nancy Pearlman (who had been one of the graduation speakers), and two members of the Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education, Ramon Miramontes and Scott Phelps. I didn’t know that Nancy was going to be speaking at the graduation, so I left a message on her cell phone while she was speaking to invite her to Diego’s reception.
Diego’s proud parents are Jose Luis and Norma Ramirez, both members of the Board of San Fernando Valley/Northeast Los Angeles NOW. Norma is also Presideent of the SFV Council of LULAC.
