Dia de Cuauhtemoc
Yesterday was the anniversary of the death of the last leader of the Aztecs (more properly known in their language, Nahuatl, as the “Mexica”) and so is known as Dia de Cuauhtemoc in his honor. As has been the tradition for decades, Aztec dancers and dance troupes converged from all over the United States and Mexico at the statue of Cuauhtemoc near Lincoln Park in East Los Angeles.
