Oops. Ed Saucerman is no longer Vice President of CALI. He just announced his resignation, taking a parting shot of accusing the CALI leadership once again of the tired slogan that we’re a “Valued Circle.” This same morning I got an email from another of my colleagues who’d previously denounced me, but after seeing today’s posting, all is forgiven, because his denunciation of one of one of the most Mondo Bizarro guys in the investigative industry, of whom Ed Saucerman is also a protege’, is right on target. He wrote:
It is sad to see the decline of a once coherent mind. I see no substantive message other than that associated with dementia of some sort. I would hate to have that type of a closed and uninformed mind for my PI.
The Law…the law is nothing more than an argument guided by past decisions which are always being missed or re-interrupted. To argue any one side of the law is like arguing with a mirror. The fact is that CALI did not support the Road Dogs or any law breaker. Instead, it supported the practice of REAL CRIMINAL DEFENSE INVESTIGATORS, not information providers or burned out old cops.
If the jury decision is going to make a change in our industry, then I hope that CALI and its leaders will be leading the way. I have changed my way of doing business, as have others who understand the matter.
For those who want to rant and rave and point out the obvious, then enjoy that while the rest of us continue to grow and change with the times.
Well, my colleague who wrote that should get ready for his own onslaught of accusations. They’ll now sp0ut off about how he’s defected to the “Valued Circle” and other such tripe. So my guess is that the battle of ideas is just beginning.
Elections, whether for government or governance of a private association ought to be contests of ideas, not contests of men (or women). For the past couple of years, the battles over who will govern within CALI and PICA have seen lots of backbiting and hitting below the belt with these bizarre accusations of conspiratorial cabals. Given that Ed Saucerman had announced that next year he was going to run for CALI President (even before the newly elected President had taken office), I assume he’s sending up the white flag of surrender for that post. But only time will tell and I’m not holding my breath: until the next election I’ll be doing the hard work of CALI and fighting for private investigators and their clients in Sacramento just as I’ve done for well over a decade.
