Mission Hospital on Florence Ave in Huntington Park, California has been shut down in a bankruptcy action for the past three years (see my past blog entry on the issue):

As a result of the public response from my last blog, I am told that the IRS has entered into a compromise and release to become a Class D, unsecured creditor, enabling a quick settlement of the remaining bankruptcy claims in a way that enables our team to move forward with a plan to re-open the hospital. The need for medical services in Huntington Park was by an unfortunate coincidence, underscored for me within the past week. A young woman was raped right in the vicinity at a party. The police had to drive her all the way down to San Pedro to get a rape kit done.
Three years of shutdown has left the facility in a shambles due to vandalism:
With any luck, we can restore the necessary health services to the community. If you are interested in helping with this project, contact me at [email protected]
